Description

You’ll develop backend functionality for web applications using Python, design REST APIs, work with MongoDB and structured data, and automate development, testing, and deployment. You’ll also troubleshoot issues across backend, frontend, databases, and production, while applying DevSecOps and security practices. The role emphasizes strong technical foundations, independent ownership, and responsible use of AI tools to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop backend for Python web applications and design REST APIs
  • Design data models and work with MongoDB
  • Generate and process tabular documents
  • Automate development, testing, and deployments
  • Diagnose and resolve problems across backend, frontend, databases, and operational environments

Requirements

  • Practical experience with Python and backend web application development
  • Knowledge of Django or a comparable Python framework and REST API design
  • Ability to work with structured data (validation, serialization, tabular document handling)
  • Experience with document databases (ideally MongoDB), including data modeling and efficient queries
  • Very good Git skills, including team workflows and automation for dev/test/deploy
  • Strong Docker and containerization experience; comfortable with Linux/Unix (WSL acceptable)
  • Orientation in CI/CD and DevSecOps principles; interest in security of applications, dependencies, configuration, and sensitive data
  • Practical use of AI tools with understanding of what the tools produce and accountability for the final result
  • Proactive, independent work style and clear, timely communication
  • Root-cause troubleshooting and ability to explain issues and propose solutions
