Description

You will conceive, develop, and design GIS applications in an agile environment and support solutions from idea through go-live. The role includes implementing and configuring GIS platforms for both cloud and on-premise deployments, and advancing customer-specific software. You will also work on modern microservice architectures and use AI tools in your domain with critical evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize software across the full engineering process in interdisciplinary teams

• Contribute to concepting, development, and design of (GIS) applications in agile projects

• Support introduction and configuration of GIS platforms in cloud and on-premise environments

• Develop and optimize customer-specific software solutions

• Concept and implement modern microservice architectures

• Accompany solutions from the initial idea through go-live

Requirements

• Degree in an IT-related field (e.g., Informatics, Geoinformatics, Computer Science) or equivalent IT training and/or relevant professional experience

• Hands-on GIS implementation experience with common GIS platforms (e.g., ESRI, Precisely, open-source GIS)

• Knowledge of one of Angular, Vue, or React

• Several years of backend development experience for scalable, web-based systems using Java or Node.js

• Experience with backend frameworks and technologies such as Spring/Spring Boot and Hibernate

• Proficiency with modern development practices and tools: Scrum, Docker, CI/CD, DevOps, domain-driven design

• Competence in applying AI tools and critically assessing results

• Very good German and good English skills
