Description

The Junior Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer supports the People Data Hub by implementing and maintaining data pipelines, transformations, and data quality controls within Microsoft Fabric. The role ingests, processes, and delivers HR data for reporting and analytics, working closely with senior engineers and architects to keep solutions secure, well-documented, and operationally stable.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Microsoft Fabric data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and preparing HR data for reporting and analytics

• Develop and support transformations using Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) patterns

• Monitor and validate data quality, identifying issues and supporting resolution with senior engineers

• Operate data solutions securely and reliably by following governance, security, deployment, and documentation standards

• Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions and continuously improve the platform

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Data Pipelines, Notebooks, and OneLake

• Hands-on experience with SQL and data processing concepts (querying, validation, basic data modeling)

• Foundational programming skills in Python and/or PySpark for simple transformation logic

• Understanding of ETL/ELT and data integration concepts, including CSV/Excel files and APIs

• Awareness of data governance, security, and quality practices for sensitive data

• Strong learning agility and proactive mindset
