The role includes modelling external and internal financial data, establishing data quality controls and secure access models, and translating business needs into reliable data sets and governance-aligned Power BI reports for reporting, analytics, exports, and operational automation.

Responsibilities

  • Ingest data from external source systems into Microsoft Fabric using robust, maintainable pipelines

  • Design and implement transformations, curated data layers, and reusable data products for analytics and operational use

  • Develop and maintain data quality tests, validation routines, and reconciliation controls across datasets

  • Document data lineage, dependencies, refresh logic, and operational ownership for Fabric-based solutions

  • Model financial data domains: market data, static data, transactional data, AML/KYC data, positions, and accounting data

  • Create scalable semantic models and reusable reporting structures, including consistent handling of identifiers, hierarchies, time dimensions, ownership, historization, and source-system keys

  • Advise on and implement security, data governance, and access control principles across engineering and reporting solutions

  • Define role-based access control, workspace governance, data classification, and segregation of duties where relevant

  • Support auditability through documentation of permissions, data handling principles, control points, and ownership

  • Enable downstream consumers with reliable, well-documented datasets for business-critical use cases

  • Identify opportunities to standardise recurring reports, manual extracts, and operational processes through governed data products

Requirements

  • Solid hands-on experience with data modelling, including scalable semantic models, reusable data products, and reporting-ready data structures

  • Experience working with financial data domains: market data, static data, transactional data, AML/KYC, positions, and accounting data

  • End-to-end data engineering in a cloud-based modern data platform, preferably Microsoft Fabric

  • Strong understanding of data governance principles: data ownership, lineage, quality, classification, access control, and auditability

  • Experience implementing or advising on security and confidentiality, including role-based access control and segregation of duties

  • Ability to translate business needs into well-defined data sets and reporting/export/operational automation use cases

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with business, operations, IT, risk, compliance, and finance stakeholders
