Description

You’ll join the AWS Marketing Data Science & Engineering team to build and scale next-generation agentic AI and MLOps systems. The team owns the data foundation, measurement/causal economics frameworks, scoring and intelligence models, and agentic AI systems that power marketing decisions. You’ll work with an AWS-native, serverless stack spanning agent runtimes, retrieval/ranking pipelines, ML training/inference, and production operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate production agentic AI systems (agent runtimes, MCP tool servers, retrieval pipelines, guardrails, and evaluation harnesses)
• Own the retrieval and ranking quality loop end to end (hybrid retrieval, graded relevance signals, reranking on live data, offline + LLM-as-judge evaluation)
• Productionize ML models with applied science partners (SageMaker pipelines, Feature Store, low-latency inference APIs, safe deployment gates)
• Build and scale serverless data pipelines at large scale (billions of rows), including ingestion, transformations, and validated migrations
• Raise operational standards for the systems you own (instrumentation, actionable alarms tied to SLOs, data-quality/freshness observability, runbooks, load/game-day testing, on-call rotation)
• Write design documents, drive code reviews, and make architecture tradeoffs
• Develop AI-native workflows using agentic development tooling

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design/architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling)
• 1+ year of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ year designing/developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
• 1+ year of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
