Description

Define and validate GPU-accelerated AI/ML server architectures that power cloud-scale training and inference. Translate workload-driven requirements into detailed component specifications, lead ODM/JDM design partners through development and production, and own fleet quality metrics after launch. Drive hardware validation and root-cause analysis across thermal, mechanical, power, and signal integrity, including accelerator interconnect performance.

Responsibilities

• Define server architectures based on workload demand and customer requirements; produce detailed designs and component specifications for high-performance AI platforms

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (components, firmware, test, qualification, integration) to deliver cohesive designs

• Run design reviews with ODM/JDM partners covering schematic, layout, BOM, and manufacturing DFx

• Define and execute validation strategies from PCBA bring-up through server and rack integration (power sequencing, signal integrity, thermal characterization, accelerator interconnect performance)

• Perform hardware debug across EVT/DVT/PVT builds; correlate failures across PCIe, power delivery, memory channels, and GPU subsystems

• Triage hardware issues at ODM facilities and in datacenters; conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions

• Own fleet quality metrics post-launch (annualized server failure rates and component-level failure modes)

• Monitor operational telemetry to detect systemic issues and drive design/process changes

• Partner with test and automation teams to improve manufacturing yield and reduce test dwell times

• Coordinate with EC2 architecture teams on instance definitions, workload requirements, and platform trade-offs
