Description

Lead embedded base software engineering to support VHIL labs, production, and pre-production plant setups. You will debug and triage issues across bootloaders, AUTOSAR OS and middleware (COM, DIAG/DCM, MEM), and support diagnostic flashing and FOTA mechanisms. You will travel to production plants and test facilities to resolve on-site integration problems and ensure system readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Debug and triage embedded software issues in Plant, VHIL, and Production setups

  • Travel to production plants and test facilities as needed for on-site issue resolution

  • Support system bring-up and troubleshooting of bootloaders, AUTOSAR OS, HWIO, COM, DCM, and MEM stacks

  • Work with Automotive Ethernet and SOME/IP

  • Support diagnostic flashing workflows: UDS-based flashing, DoIP-based flashing, and plant reprogramming

  • Collaborate with FOTA teams to debug firmware update mechanisms, including campaign execution, partial updates, and rollback handling

  • Develop and maintain tools/scripts for log capture, automated debugging, and flashing workflows

  • Ensure comprehensive diagnostic coverage (UDS, DoIP, SOME/IP, OBD-II) and plant readiness

  • Collaborate with Base SW, Integration, Cockpit Infotainment, Connectivity, and Plant teams for root-cause analysis

  • Document root causes, workarounds, and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering

  • 5+ years embedded software development experience with C and/or C++

  • Ability to technically lead and collaborate with a globally distributed team

  • Excellent knowledge of Classic AUTOSAR concepts, architecture, and specifications

  • Experience configuring and integrating the AUTOSAR basic software stack including OS, COM, DIAG, and MEM

  • Experience with MCAL configuration and developing I/O Hardware Abstraction; ability to interpret hardware schematics

  • Experience with multicore architecture and Functional Safety concepts

  • Experience with cybersecurity concepts, including HSM configuration and message authentication

  • Familiarity with compilers, emulators, debuggers, and other software development tools

  • Willingness to travel to production sites and test facilities
