Description

You will join an international engineering team developing Disaster Recovery services and core platform capabilities for a cloud-first backup product. The position focuses on writing highly reliable, high-performance backend services and managing distributed deployments in AWS and Kubernetes, with increasing Rust adoption. You will contribute to Rust services, modernize platform architecture, design scalable APIs, and resolve production performance issues.

Responsibilities

• Learn, contribute to, and gradually take ownership of services developed in Rust

• Participate in modernization of existing platform capabilities and architecture

• Design and implement scalable APIs and distributed system components

• Define and deliver valuable, testable, maintainable user stories

• Write high-quality, well-tested code with automated unit and integration tests

• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex production and performance issues

• Contribute to performance optimization, reliability improvements, and scalability initiatives

• Collaborate with engineers across multiple teams for strategic platform enhancements

• Create and maintain technical documentation

Requirements

• Strong professional experience developing software in C++

• Interest and willingness to learn and work extensively with Rust

• Solid understanding of software engineering principles and modern development practices

• Experience designing scalable, maintainable, high-performance applications

• Strong knowledge of design principles and patterns, including SOLID and test-driven development

• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, or cloud-native applications

• Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, end-to-end)

• Understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security fundamentals

• Experience with relational databases and data persistence technologies

• Familiarity with REST APIs and modern service-oriented architectures

• Containerized environments and cloud platforms experience is a plus
