Description

You will lead research and thought leadership to drive the data and insight strategy for AWS Managed Operations Intelligence. The role is end-to-end data science: data exploration, ETL, model development, and data visualization, using tools such as Spark and Airflow and AI frameworks like Hugging Face. You will also define and monitor advanced metrics and KPIs and produce decision-science insights for AWS Operations and Site Reliability Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Work with large, complex datasets to solve challenging problems using diverse analytical approaches
• Develop ML/AI models and partner with software teams to productionalize them
• Design and implement data pipelines
• Define and develop advanced, customized metrics and KPIs that reflect strategic objectives and operational complexity
• Continuously monitor and evaluate metric performance

Requirements

• 3+ years of data scientist experience
• 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab)
• 3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, including understanding performance-affecting parameters
• Knowledge of statistical measures such as confidence intervals, significance of error measurements, and evaluation datasets
