Description

You will design, implement, and operate smart data projects—from raw data to productive end products. The position combines data-science and data-engineering work, including choosing and evolving tools and building cloud-based data modeling infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with actuaries and other stakeholders and continuously develop your technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate smart data projects from raw data through to production

• Select technologies for data-science applications, define architecture, and continuously improve them

• Build and evolve cloud-based data modeling infrastructure

• Work with modern open-source technologies and adapt them independently

• Continuously develop expertise in both subject area and technology

• Collaborate with internal interfaces and stakeholders across the group

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a STEM or comparable field; very good grades (ideally a PhD)

• Advanced knowledge of SQL and database systems

• Hands-on enthusiasm for modern technologies such as Python, Docker, Snowflake, and Power BI

• Experience with AI tools and understanding of their opportunities and limitations

• Analytical thinking and ability to independently solve complex problems

• Strong communication skills to present complex topics clearly and structured to experts, management, and board

• Fluent German and English (written and spoken)
