Description

You will be responsible for ensuring product compliance with ISO 26262 requirements from concept through production. As a functional safety technical expert, you will translate high-level safety concepts into hardware and software solutions for inverter-related system functions. You will work across teams to support system development, requirements, safety analyses, and validation (including HiL and vehicle testing).

Responsibilities

  • Drive technical development of system functions with hardware, software, testing teams, suppliers, and customers
  • Define and align technical requirements, functional scope, and subsystem/supplier specifications
  • Develop system-level architecture and system requirements
  • Create functional and technical safety concepts (FSC/TSC) for inverter systems
  • Ensure solutions comply with functional safety requirements per ISO 26262
  • Support preparation of HiL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) and vehicle tests; validate safety mechanisms
  • Perform technical analyses, FMEA, design reviews, and client presentations
  • Coordinate system engineering activities across the full V-cycle
  • Collaborate with SW/HW/Testing teams on implementation and verification
  • Contribute to improving system engineering processes, methods, and tools
  • Share knowledge and mentor less experienced engineers

Requirements

  • Technical higher education (electronics, mechatronics, computer science or related)
  • At least 5 years of system engineering experience in automotive
  • At least 3 years of Functional Safety experience according to ISO 26262
  • Very good knowledge of system engineering processes across the full product lifecycle
  • Experience analyzing, defining, and managing system requirements
  • Knowledge of electronic architectures for sensors and actuators
  • Experience with power electronics, especially inverters for electric motor drives
  • Knowledge of AURIX microcontrollers and functional safety documentation
  • Knowledge of embedded systems (hardware and/or software)
  • Knowledge of functional safety analysis tools (e.g., Medini) and MATLAB/Simulink
  • Ability to model systems using SysML
  • Very good English
