Description

Own the architecture and governance of a governed data platform and agentic data infrastructure that enables trustworthy enterprise AI agents. Build canonical datasets, secure ETL/ELT pipelines, a graph-based knowledge layer, and an MCP interface over production data systems for accurate LLM and agent retrieval. Lead data engineering standards, quality gates, and production operational excellence across the team.

Responsibilities

• Data Platform Architecture and Governance: Define and evolve the internal data warehouse platform, including workload isolation, access control design, and production migration sequencing; enforce data contracts and quality gates.
• Foundational Data Buildout: Design and build canonical datasets across core business domains with common definitions, governed relationships, metadata standards, and reusable data objects.
• Pipeline Engineering and Operational Excellence: Build privacy-compliant, secure data pipelines for analytics/ML/agent use; own monitoring, alarming, runbooks, and SLA tracking; participate in on-call and operational health reviews.
• Agentic Data Infrastructure: Create production-grade data interfaces, including a Model Context Protocol (MCP) layer, so LLMs and AI agents can retrieve accurate, role-appropriate business context.
• Graph-Based Knowledge Layer: Implement a semantic graph-based knowledge layer (Amazon Neptune Analytics or equivalent) to enable relational traversal beyond tabular data.
• Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Establish data engineering best practices (discovery, naming, access security, documentation), lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and drive alignment on architecture.

Requirements

• 5+ years of data engineering experience
• Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language: Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
• Experience with MPP databases such as Amazon Redshift
• Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring other engineers
• Hands-on experience with data warehouse architectures, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL/ELT, analytics/reporting tools, data structures, and SQL coding
