Focus: First-line defense for product quality across the Battery Pack Non-Conforming Material (NCM) organization and the Process Technician team, targeting line-side quality, uptime, NCM throughput, and scrap reduction.

Description

Own a closed-loop quality leadership role for Battery Pack: lead both the NCM organization and the line Process Technician team. This hands-on position drives line-side response to defects and ensures downstream MRB/NCM execution converts recurring issues into upstream process fixes. You will be measured on line-side quality and uptime metrics as well as NCM throughput and scrap reduction.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop process technicians and NCM technicians/supervisors, including recruiting, onboarding, coaching, certification, and performance management.
• Plan labor across both teams against production ramp and demand (shift coverage, headcount balance, labor utilization, and reduced variability).
• Lead line process issue analysis and problem-solving; ensure primary response for FPY and defect trends and escalate to Engineering, Quality, and Production appropriately.
• Act as technical backup across both teams to ensure zero coverage gaps and support issues of increasing complexity.
• Monitor and countermeasure MMS and WIP accumulation to protect line throughput.
• Own the Material Review Board (MRB) process: confirm non-conforming material, execute dispositions (use-as-is, rework, repair, scrap, RTV), and ensure accurate, timely documentation.
• Own NCM KPIs—WIP and aging, disposition turnaround time, rework first-pass yield, scrap and rework cost—and drive scheduled documented improvement actions.
• Use line-side defect data to permanently eliminate top NCM drivers via structured problem-solving (3D/8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, DOE), reducing sustained rework capacity.
• Develop and maintain standardized work, rework/repair manufacturing instructions, and training programs for both teams.
• Own EHS assurance for both teams, including current safety training, incident documentation, proactive hazard correction, and ergonomic compliance in line/sort/rework operations.
• Provide availability for off-hours and weekend support as production requires.
