Description

Develop, qualify, scale, and optimize battery cell manufacturing processes end to end—from upstream mixing and electrode manufacturing through downstream finished cell testing and shipping. Drive supplier industrialization readiness (factory readiness, FAT/SAT) and run TQP for production launch readiness while ensuring manufacturing lines meet cell design requirements. Lead failure analysis and corrective actions (FA/CA), implement IQC/IPQC/OQC at supplier sites, and validate robust supplier corrective actions and audit readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, qualify, and oversee battery cell manufacturing processes end to end
  • Drive supplier industrialization readiness including factory readiness and manufacturing FAT/SAT
  • Lead TQP for production launch readiness and ensure manufacturing lines meet cell design requirements
  • Lead failure analyses (FAs) and implement corrective actions (CAs) for inline, OQC, performance, and next-customer IQC failures
  • Participate in supplier DFM reviews; guide suppliers on poke-yokes, best manufacturing/testing/gauging methods, and correct tooling/assembly equipment
  • Develop and implement IQC, IPQC, and OQC at supplier sites to ensure defect-free incoming product
  • Accountable for supplier audits to ensure part performance, delivery, and reliability expectations
  • Validate supplier corrective actions involving design and/or process changes to ensure robustness and sustainability

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Material Science, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of experience in cell manufacturing (Pouch/Prismatic/Can type cells)
  • Demonstrated experience developing cell manufacturing processes and qualifying/scaling to volume with suppliers
  • Mandatory proficiency in Battery Cell FA: cell tear downs, cyclers, Raman spectroscopy, and loading analysis/measurement
  • Experience with measurement system analysis and SPC (Cp/Cpk), including control plans, FMEA, and OEE
  • Strong statistical analysis skills for factory data
  • Strong technical writing ability
  • Ability to travel: up to 80% domestic and up to 20% international
