Description

Lead and coach software engineers building security, identity, and access management governance services for human and non-human identities across applications, directories, and resources in customer cloud and hybrid environments. Own team priorities and align the engineering roadmap with customer needs, product strategy, and business objectives, while influencing technical direction and architecture. Drive engineering excellence end-to-end—from design and coding through testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational support—while championing security, privacy, reliability, performance, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of software engineers
• Set priorities and align the engineering roadmap with customer and business objectives
• Guide design, development, and delivery of globally distributed, business-critical identity governance services
• Influence solution architecture for governing human and non-human identities
• Drive engineering excellence across the full delivery lifecycle (design, coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, operational support)
• Champion security, privacy, reliability, performance, and compliance throughout the product and service lifecycle
• Translate long-term product and technical strategy into incremental milestones that deliver measurable value
• Collaborate across Microsoft and with industry partners to build integrated identity and access governance solutions
• Make engineering and investment decisions, manage technical risks, and deliver in complex and ambiguous environments
• Build an inclusive, accountable, learning-oriented team culture

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related technical discipline) AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python (or equivalent experience)
• Ability to meet Microsoft/customer/government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
• 4+ years of people management experience leading software engineering teams
• 6+ years of experience designing, building, or operating commercial software applications, cloud services, or large-scale distributed systems
• Experience with identity and access management, identity governance, or related security products/services
