Description

You will build features, improvements, enhancements, and bug fixes for Azure Data products used by customers worldwide. You’ll work across the SDLC using disciplined AI-native development practices, and you’ll also deploy and operate Azure services in an air-gapped environment. Your work must meet security policy and assurance requirements for both public and private sector customers.

Responsibilities

• Use AI tools and practices across the SDLC while validating and taking responsibility for AI-generated changes

• Proactively verify assumptions using debugging, tests, tools, logs, and telemetry; perform incident retrospectives and drive prevention of recurrence

• Follow least-access principles; investigate issues with privacy- and security-preserving logging/telemetry

• Produce high-quality code and test coverage; review code for diagnosability, reliability, testability, and maintainability

• Develop and evaluate design options; contribute to design documents and architecture decisions

• Create and execute test strategies including security testing (including negative cases)

• Apply security as code, establish security invariants, and incorporate security monitoring, gates, and scanners

• Support deployment planning, safe change practices, feature flighting, and rollback plans

• Maintain live-site operations on-call (DRI), improve troubleshooting artifacts, and enhance observability

• Instrument and analyze telemetry for performance, reliability, availability, usage, and safety; consider privacy implications

• Understand user/customer requirements and advocate for security and privacy needs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field

• 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding (C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python)

• Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance with access to SCI via SSBI with polygraph

• Ability to meet Microsoft/customer/government security screening requirements pre-offer and post-hire

• U.S. citizenship verification

• Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
