Description

Join a remote B2B team to build and maintain high-throughput network software in Go and asynchronous Python. You will design protocol decoders, telemetry pipelines, and data movement components with strong performance engineering, testing, and security hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Implement concurrent Go services for UDP/TCP packet handling and high-throughput decode loops
• Build async Python components for networking, HTTP clients/servers, and worker pools
• Decode and process flow/packet data (IPFIX, NetFlow, sFlow) using template-based approaches
• Use packet capture (pcap) for primary debugging and validation
• Automate network device configuration via SSH/CLI and vendor APIs with idempotent changes and drift detection
• Engineer data movement with efficient codecs (Protocol Buffers) and streaming semantics (Kafka)
• Profile and optimize for allocation/GC pressure, lock contention, and zero-copy paths
• Develop and maintain Linux networking performance at scale (sockets/epoll/sysctl) and optionally eBPF
• Package and ship binaries for customer environments (static/frozen builds, deb/rpm), and support containerized workflows
• Design distributed state handling with reconnect-and-resync and idempotent replay

Requirements

• Senior-level experience in network software engineering
• Strong Go skills: concurrency, UDP/TCP servers, profiling with pprof
• Strong async Python skills: asyncio internals, cancellation, backpressure, async HTTP
• Deep networking knowledge across L2/L3/L4
• Experience decoding telemetry and debugging with pcap
• CI testing experience (async unit tests, snapshot tests, load tests)
• Code quality practices with static typing and linting (mypy/golangci-lint) and pre-commit gates
• Network device automation via SSH/CLI and vendor APIs
• Ability to design high-performance data movement (e.g., Protocol Buffers codecs, Kafka producer/consumer semantics)
