Description

Build and manage services that detect and automate the mitigation of cybersecurity threats across Amazon’s infrastructure, including advanced persistent threats. Work with security engineers, data scientists, and software engineers to develop scalable security solutions that protect AWS customers both internally and externally. Improve observability, performance, and efficiency while raising testing and operational excellence.

Role Description & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data scientists and security engineers to build automated security detection and mitigation workflows

• Design scalable architectures for low-latency, big data processing

• Improve observability, performance, and efficiency of existing systems

• Raise the bar for testing, repeatability, automation, and operational excellence

• Mentor and develop teammates technically and professionally

• Seek out, develop, and advocate for new technologies

Requirements

• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, scaling)

• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience

• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

• Knowledge of Python and/or C++

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, operations)

• Experience with large-scale data analytics and data warehousing

• Experience processing/filtering/presenting very large datasets (hundreds of millions/billions of rows)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field

• Experience with AWS Services including EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and SQS
