• Role: Data Engineer (Data/AI on Google Cloud)

• Focus: Data platform migration from Cloudera (on-premise) to GCP and implementation of new Data/AI solutions

Description

You will work on migrating a data platform from Cloudera on-premise to a Google Cloud Platform (GCP)-based architecture and implementing new Data/AI solutions in the cloud. Your work will include defining the migration strategy and technical approach, modernizing existing data processes with GCP services, and designing/implementing Data/AI solutions using Dataproc, Dataflow, BigQuery, Cloud Composer, and automation tooling.

Responsibilities

• Develop a migration strategy and technical roadmap/approach

• Migrate and modernize existing data processes using GCP services

• Design and implement Data/AI solutions using GCP tools and automation

Requirements

• Experience delivering on-premise to cloud migration projects

• Cloudera or other Hadoop-based platform experience (preferred)

• Very strong Python knowledge for ETL, data pipeline development, and automation

• Very strong Java knowledge

• Ability to design and architect GCP data solutions considering scalability, security, and cost optimization

• Practical knowledge of orchestration, CI/CD, and automation tools (e.g., Airflow, Git, Terraform or equivalents)

• Very good English (C1) for daily communication, technical workshops, and project documentation

• Experience analyzing legacy solutions and recommending target cloud architectures

• Knowledge of data governance, data security, and access control in cloud environments
