Description

Remote contract opportunities for experienced Data Engineering and Data Modelling professionals working on cloud data platforms, data infrastructure, and modernisation projects. You’ll support production data infrastructure, build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines, and contribute to legacy-to-cloud migration and target-state data architecture.

Responsibilities (by role)

• Operate and improve production data infrastructure (upgrades, tuning, reliability)
• Build large-scale data processing pipelines using modern orchestration and tooling
• Implement data quality monitoring, controls, and validation
• Perform legacy-to-cloud data migration, transformation, and integration
• Define target-state data architecture and modelling standards using analytical data modelling practices
• Support CI/CD workflows and engineering practices for data platform changes

Requirements

• 3+ years of data engineering experience (Data Engineer roles)
• Strong Spark, Scala, and Python skills for Big Data & Infrastructure
• Experience with Airflow and ETL pipelines and large-scale data processing
• Cloud experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure
• Hands-on operational ownership of production data infrastructure (e.g., GKE upgrades, tuning, reliability)
• Advanced SQL and ETL/ELT pipelines for the GCP Data Quality & Migration role
• Data quality monitoring, controls, and validation experience
• Legacy-to-cloud migration and transformation experience
• Enterprise and analytical data modelling experience for the Senior GCP Data Modeler role
• Hands-on GCP and dbt Core experience for the modelling role
• SQL and data quality concepts knowledge
