Description

You will design, develop, and maintain modern data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform, building Data Lake/Lakehouse and Data Warehouse solutions for analytics and Machine Learning. You will implement streaming and Change Data Capture (CDC) data processing, ensure solution quality and stability through analysis and testing, and collaborate with Data Scientists, business analysts, architects, and Product Owners. The role also includes mentoring and sharing Data Engineering standards with the team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines on GCP

  • Build and evolve Data Lake and Lakehouse platforms for analytics and Machine Learning

  • Create efficient streaming and CDC pipelines

  • Design and develop Data Warehouse solutions and data models for business analytics

  • Solve complex data processing problems and support business decision-making

  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders (Data Scientists, business analysts, architects, Product Owners)

  • Apply Data Engineering best practices and participate in selecting and implementing new tools/technologies

  • Mentor less experienced team members and share standards

  • Ensure quality, performance, and reliability via analysis, testing, and ongoing maintenance

Requirements

  • 5+ years as a Data Engineer or Data Platform Engineer

  • 2+ years with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

  • Very strong SQL

  • Programming experience in Python or Scala

  • Practical GCP experience, especially BigQuery, Datastream, Dataproc, DataPlex, and Dataform

  • Experience building and maintaining Data Lake or Lakehouse

  • Experience building Data Warehouse using cloud MPP engines (preferred BigQuery)

  • Experience creating streaming and CDC data pipelines

  • Knowledge of data modeling, ETL, Data Governance, and reporting topics

  • Experience with relational, NoSQL, and cloud databases

  • Good Linux knowledge

  • Agile team experience

  • Very good English (minimum B2, preferred C1)
