Description

Collaborate with scientists and stakeholders to translate research and business questions into intuitive, actionable visual solutions. You will design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and analytical applications primarily in Spotfire, combining stakeholder engagement with analytical scripting in R and Python.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand research questions and decision needs
• Facilitate requirement discussions and translate complex scientific/business needs into visualization requirements
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and analytical applications in Spotfire
• Translate complex scientific and analytical data into clear, intuitive, and actionable visualizations
• Develop and maintain R and Python functions for data preparation, statistical analysis, modeling, and advanced visualization
• Apply data visualization and user-experience best practices to create accessible dashboards
• Prepare, transform, validate, and integrate data from multiple sources
• Optimize dashboard performance, data loading, usability, and maintainability
• Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to dashboard users
• Develop reusable visualization components and support shared development standards
• Collaborate with data engineering and IT teams on integration, security, access, and deployment
• Stay current on Spotfire and data visualization and scientific data analysis developments

Requirements

• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Ability to collaborate across teams with different technical expertise
• Experience gathering and translating user needs into practical analytical solutions
• Experience designing and developing interactive dashboards in Spotfire (or Power BI, Tableau, Qlik)
• Strong understanding of data visualization principles and dashboard usability
• Experience using R and/or Python for data preparation and analytical application development
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to data quality and detail
• Curiosity and willingness to learn scientific questions, data, and workflows
• Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience in a related area (data science, computer science, statistics, bioinformatics, natural sciences, engineering)
