Description

Work on a global fintech platform for invoice financing, implementing backend logic for contracts, invoicing, decisioning, KYC/AML screening, and real-time payments. You will develop and refactor Symfony/PHP modules, design REST APIs with OpenAPI documentation, and build event-driven flows with Kafka and Symfony Messenger. The role emphasizes ownership, strong domain orientation, code quality improvements, and proactive AI-assisted development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refactor backend modules in Symfony 7 / PHP 8.4
• Design and implement REST APIs with OpenAPI documentation; provide an auto-generated TypeScript client for the frontend
• Work with event-driven architecture using Symfony Messenger + Apache Kafka
• Work with PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch; optimize Doctrine ORM queries
• Write unit, integration, and functional tests using fixtures (Zenstruck Foundry)
• Maintain code quality (PHPStan level 8, ECS) and perform code review via GitHub
• Participate in architectural decisions and gradually address identified technical debt (e.g., god objects)
• Integrate with 30+ external systems (banks, credit registries, insurers, KYC providers)

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with PHP and Symfony (ideally Symfony 6+)
• Strong OOP skills, design patterns knowledge, and SOLID principles
• Experience with Doctrine ORM and relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL)
• Experience designing and implementing REST APIs
• Active use of AI tools during development (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor)
• Experience with Docker and Git
• English B1+ (documentation reading and written communication)
• Ability to navigate and work effectively in a large existing codebase
