Description

You will design from scratch, implement, and evolve the backend architecture for a new system.

Responsibilities include building and scaling secure, high-performance REST APIs, modeling databases, optimizing SQL queries, and leveraging Redis caching mechanisms.

You will also handle asynchronous processes and inter-service communication using message queues (RabbitMQ/Symfony Messenger), integrate with external services (e.g., payment gateways, logistics systems, marketing tools), and ensure top application security standards aligned with OWASP. You will participate actively in code review, maintain code quality using SOLID and design patterns, and write automated tests. Finally, you will create technical documentation for the system being developed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial experience building web applications with PHP (preferred PHP 8+)
• Very strong knowledge of Symfony and its ecosystem
• Experience designing and working with REST APIs using API Platform
• Experience with distributed architecture / microservices
• Proficiency with Doctrine ORM; comfort with relational databases and SQL query optimization
• Practical experience with Redis, RabbitMQ (Symfony Messenger), Elasticsearch, and Mercure
• Strong understanding of application security (OWASP, CSRF, XSS, SQLi) and API protection techniques
• Ability to write reliable automated tests (PHPUnit) and use static analysis tools (PHPStan, PHP CS Fixer)
• Comfortable working with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Git (GitFlow)
• Ability to diagnose performance issues (code profiling, query analysis)
• English at least B2; Polish at least C1
