Description

The Foundation group builds and runs the core backend platform capabilities, including end-to-end execution of Actors, storage for Actor progress and outputs, Actor Standby real-time services, Apify Proxy/Unblocker, the public API framework, the Console framework, and the AWS infrastructure and deployment process.

You’ll join a small cross-functional team to develop, debug, and continuously improve these backend services.

Responsibilities

• Run Actors end-to-end from the Console Start button through container/microVM execution on the servers
• Build and maintain storage systems for Actor progress and outputs from databases to the frontend
• Develop Actor Standby for deploying Actors as real-time, synchronous services
• Support Apify Proxy and Unblocker services to avoid being blocked when accessing the internet
• Maintain the public API framework and the Console framework
• Own AWS infrastructure and deployment processes for platform applications

Requirements

• 3+ years of industry experience building backend systems and APIs
• Strong skills in developing and debugging with TypeScript/Node.js (or equivalent ability in another language)
• Familiarity with Linux
• Experience with AWS or other public clouds is a plus
• Experiment-driven and collaborative mindset
• Good communication skills in English
