Description

Design and develop distributed back-end applications in Google Cloud to enable flexible customer targeting for coupons, newsletters, and more. Own key parts of the marketing platform’s backend for multiple markets, including architecture, integrations, testing, and operations. Build and extend message-driven components, support production operations, and share knowledge through technical discussions.

Responsibilities

  • Technical ownership of Python-based product audience management: architecture, integration, testing, and operations
  • Develop and extend backend components in a message-driven architecture using Google Cloud patterns and best practices
  • Participate in architectural and design discussions; promote knowledge sharing in the team
  • Monitor and support the running application as part of regular operations rotation

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in designing and developing distributed back-end applications, preferably in Python
  • Proven ability to develop in Python (including transitioning from other languages)
  • Strong knowledge of software design patterns and best practices (Clean Code, SOLID)
  • Profound experience with relational databases, SQL, and ORM frameworks (especially SQLAlchemy)
  • Hands-on CI/CD experience with tools such as GitHub, Terraform (IaC), and container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Sound knowledge of message-driven architectures
  • Mastery of test automation; ideally use TDD
  • Familiarity with agile methods (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Experience with DevOps practices and operating applications in production
  • Cloud experience, preferably GCP with BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Run
