Description

You will support the development of powertrain ECU software for V8 and V12 Otto engines, with a focus on integrated Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates. The work includes strategies to maintain backward compatibility across development, production, and aftersales, and automated validation/testing to ensure compliance with UNECE R156 (SUMS). You will design and implement innovative automated test strategies and tools to verify OTA update quality and functionality.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and develop strategies to ensure software backward compatibility for internal combustion powertrains across the full lifecycle (development/production/aftersales)
• Develop automated validation methods to guarantee compliance of OTA updates with UNECE R156 requirements (Software Update Management System – SUMS)
• Design and implement automated test strategies and test tools to comprehensively verify the quality and functionality of OTA updates for powertrain control units

Requirements

• Completed university degree (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Technology Management, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field)
• Experience in powertrain application
• Experience in software development
• Knowledge and understanding of powertrain systems and OTA technologies
• Secure German and English skills in writing and speaking
• Strong motivation and passion for driving the future of a major automotive company
• High analytical and conceptual abilities plus structured, independent working style
• Communication skills and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
