Description

Work on innovative software solutions for satellite payload data ordering, reception, processing, archiving and distribution. Design automated ingestion & processing workflows for satellite payload streams and construct high-availability APIs (STAC/REST) enabling users to search, filter, and stream Earth observation assets. Build standardized EO products from raw payload data such as GeoTIFF and COG.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software for satellite payload data ordering, reception, processing, archiving and distribution
  • Contribute across the full lifecycle (design, prototyping, developing, maintaining)
  • Implement automated workflows for processing raw payload data into standardized EO products (GeoTIFF, COG)
  • Write clean, efficient, well-documented and testable code
  • Manage software engineering fundamentals: documentation, version control, team collaboration
  • Identify and resolve bugs and issues
  • Deploy and monitor developed systems

Requirements (fundamental)

  • Minimum of 2 year of professional software development experience in Python or/and JavaScript, TypeScript, Java
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in web apps (Angular, React or similar) development
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
  • Experienced with GIT and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI)
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently in a full remote team environment
  • Knowledge about clean code, unit testing, git workflows, CICD automation
  • Comfortable working or ability to learn a Linux environment

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge and/or experience in space sector projects related with satellite data processing (e.g., ESA)
  • Knowledge of PDGS terminology and standards (e.g., image quality)
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, S3 object storage (AWS S3, MinIO)
  • Familiarity with EO standards and formats: STAC specification, GeoTIFF, COG, GeoJSON
  • Experience with Geospatial tooling: PySTAC, GDAL, Rasterio, Shapely, NumPy
  • Experience with workflow engines (e.g., Apache Airflow, Prefect, Argo Workflows)
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Knowledge of web mapping libraries (CesiumJS, OpenLayers, Leaflet, Mapbox GL)
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools (Selenium, Cypress)
