Description

The Polaris D&IT Predictive Data Science Internship is a 12-week paid summer internship designed for emerging juniors and seniors interested in applying data science, analytics, and AI to solve real business challenges. As a Predictive Data Science Intern, you will work with large datasets to uncover insights, build predictive models, and develop data-driven recommendations that support business decisions across Polaris. Projects may include analyzing customer, dealer, supply chain, and operational data to identify trends, improve forecasting, optimize processes, and drive business performance.

Responsibilities

• Build predictive models
• Develop data-driven recommendations that support business decisions
• Partner with cross-functional teams across analytics, technology, operations, and the business
• Work on areas including predictive analytics and forecasting, ML/AI solutions, data management/engineering, and business intelligence/visualization/decision support

Intern Innovation & Development

• Mentorship: paired with a DP associate for mentor support throughout the 12 weeks
• Programming hours: weekly functional and centralized learning sessions
• Networking: intentional time with peers and leaders
• Intern Innovation Challenge: team case study presenting creative and practical solutions to executive leadership
• Early Talent Summit Week: 2-day event in the Wyoming, MN office with professional development and networking

Benefits

• Intern relocation assistance for eligible interns working 35+ miles from assigned location (relocation stipend and temporary housing assistance)
• Starting pay range for Minnesota: $23.50 to $32.00 per hour, plus eligibility for overtime

The Selection Process

• Applications reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the fall
• Phone screen followed by a virtual interview with Polaris HR leaders
• Internship offers possible after successful interview completion
• Internship assignments finalized in February based on candidate interests, strengths, and business needs

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Data Science, or other related business degree
• Intended graduation date between August 2027 and May 2029
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
• Commit to a full 12-week internship working 40 hours per week within one of these date ranges: May 17–August 6, 2027 or June 1–August 20, 2027
• Open to geographic mobility and relocation opportunities
• U.S. person and not require sponsorship for employment now or in the future
• Reliable transportation for daily commuting to and from the office
• Previous experience with Microsoft Office software tools: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Word

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous internship/co-op experience or involvement in relevant projects
• Previous leadership experience in work, organizations, or classroom
• Demonstrated strengths in analysis, creative problem-solving, communication, interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership
• Interest in future career opportunities and continued growth
• Completion of at least two years of university coursework
