4626 Senior Product Manager Prior Authorization-Oncology

Description

Own the prior authorization product strategy, roadmap, and cross-functional execution across oncology and key specialties including diagnostic imaging, cardiology, GI, orthopedics, and more. Define product direction, prioritize investments, lead engineering and clinical/content teams, and collaborate with customers, partners, Sales, and Product Marketing to ensure end-to-end success. For oncology, serve as the subject matter expert by owning clinical criteria, workflows, and documentation requirements using NCCN Guidelines and payer-specific policies, ensuring the product remains clinically current, scalable, and audit-ready.

Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Own the overall prior authorization product strategy and roadmap across specialties
  • Balance oncology depth with broader product growth
  • Prioritize opportunities based on customer, clinical, and business impact
  • Conduct market and competitive research, with particular depth in oncology and value-based oncology care
  • Define product success metrics and use product analytics/data to measure outcomes and guide decisions

Oncology & Clinical Criteria

  • Own oncology PA strategy, including diagnosis- and regimen-level criteria based on NCCN Guidelines and payer policies
  • Bring deep expertise in oncology PA workflows across chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation oncology, and supportive care
  • Direct the translation of evolving NCCN Guidelines and payer policies into product requirements
  • Partner with engineering, AI, clinical content, and support teams to build and maintain the oncology criteria engine

Payer Connectivity & Interoperability

  • Define the roadmap for electronic PA submission across specialties
  • Move customers from manual/portal workflows toward API-based solutions such as FHIR PAS, CRD, and DTR
  • Build partnerships for interoperability with payers, benefit managers, and other ecosystem participants

Customer & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as the executive product owner for customer outcomes across the specialty portfolio
  • Engage practice leaders, PA teams, and clinical staff to validate workflows, criteria, and product priorities
  • Direct engineering and clinical/content priorities, partnering with leadership on staffing, sequencing, and delivery
  • Coordinate launches with Sales and Product Marketing and represent the product with customers, leadership, and partners
  • Partner with platform teams to ensure specialty workflows integrate with FlowAuth's EHR and payer connectivity capabilities
  • Own product documentation, clinical criteria change logs, testing/beta requirements, and customer-facing training

Requirements

  • 3+ years of software product management experience with ownership of an end-to-end roadmap and cross-functional execution
  • Direct oncology prior authorization experience with strong understanding of diagnoses, treatment regimens, PA workflows, submission, and payer adjudication
  • Working knowledge of NCCN Guidelines and their application to PA clinical criteria
  • Experience with CMS-0057 interoperability requirements, including PAS, CRD, and DTR APIs
  • Provider-side experience preferred (oncology practice, health system, or provider-facing PA platform); payer-side oncology utilization management experience also valuable
  • Proven ability to lead or partner closely with engineering, design, and clinical/content teams
  • Strong executive presence and ability to work effectively with customers, leadership, and partners
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills
