Description

The role designs and builds proof-of-concept systems to de-risk transformative ideas in data fabric, ontology engineering, knowledge graphs, and agentic data management—translating them into an evidence-based view on what to adopt next. Work spans semantic harmonization & AI-ready data, ontology engineering & knowledge graphs (including GraphRAG and multi-hop reasoning), data agents & agentic data management, and knowledge runtime/the truth layer (retrieval, verification, reasoning, access control, audit, and human-AI knowledge systems). You lead solutions end to end, partner with internal teams and the external ecosystem, and shape the technical direction of the theme.

Responsibilities

• Identify: Track the frontier of data fabric, ontology, and knowledge infrastructure
• Translate: Build proof-of-concept systems and form evidence-based adoption opinions
• Embed: Transfer knowledge by partnering with other labs and business units
• Shape technical direction: Generate ideas, define research directions, and own projects end to end
• Collaborate with AI engineers and researchers to integrate ML and agentic capabilities
• Establish thought leadership via talks, tutorials, and internal briefings
• Provide technical mentorship and raise engineering craft

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Data/Information Science, or related field OR equivalent demonstrated depth
• 8+ years building production-grade data, distributed, or ML systems
• Deep expertise in several areas: data platforms and pipelines; knowledge graphs/graph databases; semantic technologies and ontologies; LLM/RAG and agentic systems; or cloud-native distributed systems
• Track record taking ambiguous, open-ended problems from concept to working system
• Strong written and verbal communication
