Technical Leader

Senior • Remote

26,000 - 34,000 PLN/yr

Kraków, MA, Poland

Quick Facts

  • You will lead end-to-end technical architecture for new client engagements, from discovery and technology selection through PoC, MVP, and production rollout.
  • You will act as the primary technical counterpart for the client, translating business goals into technical design and running technical workshops.

Description

You will take new engagements from a blank page—no existing codebase—and turn a loosely defined problem into a solid, production-grade platform.

You will own architecture end-to-end, work hands-on on critical prototypes/spikes/architecturally significant code, and mentor cross-functional engineering teams while proactively managing risks and technical debt.

Responsibilities

  • Turn ambiguous problem statements into a production-grade platform architecture.
  • Own end-to-end technical architecture: discovery → technology selection → PoC → MVP → production rollout.
  • Translate business goals into technical design; run technical workshops with stakeholders.
  • Proactively surface risks, technical debt, and better alternatives.
  • Lead and mentor engineering teams; review key design decisions and raise the technical bar.
  • Support presales and scoping: effort estimation, solution outlines, and technical input into commercial proposals (including presenting architecture directly).
  • Stay hands-on on critical prototypes, spikes, and significant code.

Requirements

Experience & Technical

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of commercial software engineering experience, including at least 3 years designing architecture for systems that reached production.
  • Strong hands-on background in Java or Kotlin (Spring / Spring Boot) on enterprise-scale microservice systems: security, scalability, resilience, async communication.
  • Practical production experience with at least one public cloud (AWS preferred; Azure or GCP acceptable), including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or equivalent).
  • Comfort with distributed-systems building blocks: messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or MQTT), REST/gRPC/GraphQL APIs, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands-on frontend coding ability: personally ship production features in React and TypeScript.
  • Track record of owning at least one greenfield build or major re-architecture with clear trade-offs and rationale.
  • Experience leading or mentoring engineers formally or informally (tech lead, team lead, or similar).
  • Very good spoken and written English (C1).

Soft Skills

  • Proactivity and ownership: propose solutions and take responsibility for outcomes.
  • Strong presentation skills: present technical/architectural parts in client offers and lead technical workshops.
  • Influence without authority: push back with well-reasoned alternatives and gain buy-in.
  • Business fluency: translate technical concepts into business language and build stakeholder relationships.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on GenAI/LLM tooling: RAG-based systems, agentic workflows, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted code modernization.
  • Automotive/connected-vehicle/IoT domain experience (telemetry pipelines, digital twin, software-defined vehicle).
  • Additional languages beyond Java/Kotlin: Python, Go, or Rust.
  • Data platforms and pipelines experience (Databricks, Kafka Streams, ETL) or systems ingesting high-volume device/fleet data.
  • Prior consulting or professional-services background.
  • Cloud architecture certification (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Benefits

  • Non-corporate work environment among experienced engineers.
  • Individual growth & development plan supported by cyclical feedback sessions.
  • Access to knowledge platforms.
  • Equipment of your choice.
  • Financing of conferences, external trainings, and certifications (e.g. AWS, Databricks, Anthropic).
  • Language lessons (English, German and Polish for foreigners).
  • LuxMed private medical care.
  • Weekly Lunch & Learn to meet in the office, lunch together, and share knowledge.
  • Employee referral program.
  • Rewards for success of the month and year awarded by employees.
  • Special rewards for your years with us (G-Man).
