Description

Participate and/or lead strategic software solution design and development practices as a hands-on software engineer who can rapidly integrate with teams using a variety of technologies and languages to solve complex challenges. Collaborate with Channel AI Engineering Leadership on the relevance and feasibility of solution designs, and work with cross-functional agile teams to plan, influence, align, develop, and deliver software solutions in alignment with those designs. Recommend technical developments to improve the quality of used technology (systems, processes, infrastructure, installations and machines) and use data to drive original design ideas.

Responsibilities

• Participate and/or lead strategic software solution design and development practices

• Integrate with teams using diverse technologies and languages

• Work with AI Engineering Leadership to assess solution design relevance and feasibility

• Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to plan, develop, and deliver aligned software solutions

• Recommend technical developments to improve technology quality (systems, processes, infrastructure)

• Conceptualize products and services using data-driven design decisions

• Develop and maintain an application software development roadmap aligned to business requirements

• Deliver small- or medium-scale projects within an established program management plan

• Monitor, identify, and correct complex software defects to keep applications fully functioning

Requirements

• Advanced and demonstrated technical knowledge and prior experience designing, developing, delivering, and maintaining software solutions across a wide breadth of technology competencies

• Experience in software design patterns and architectural integration patterns

• Experience with solution implementations incorporating AI Tech Stack

• Hands-on experience rapidly adopting emerging AI and agentic patterns

• Awareness of emerging technologies and industry trends to inform forward-looking decisions

• Experience designing and delivering large-scale, performant, loosely coupled service-oriented architectures and solutions

• Full stack hands-on experience in Python, JavaScript, React, etc.

Nice to have

• Expertise in AWS cloud technologies: API Gateway, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, IAM, CloudWatch, Route53

• Expertise implementing AI Agent-based solutions and leveraging AI LLMs in everyday development

• Familiarity with John Deere dealer channel applications and related business processes

• Experience building reusable and scalable platform capabilities
