Role Description The Senior Director, Electrical Engineering Sourcing and Materials is a full-time, hybrid role based in Boston, MA, with flexibility for some work from home. This role oversees the sourcing strategy for electrical components and materials used in Sonos products, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and supply continuity. Daily responsibilities include leading supplier selection and negotiations, managing strategic supplier relationships, and collaborating with engineering, operations, finance, and product teams to align sourcing decisions with product development and launch timelines. The role also involves evaluating component roadmaps, mitigating supply and risk issues, optimizing the materials portfolio, and driving continuous improvement in sourcing processes and tools. The Senior Director provides leadership to a sourcing team, sets performance goals, and ensures alignment with Sonos’ long-term technology and business strategy. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in electrical engineering, electronic components, and materials sourcing within consumer electronics or related industries. Strong skills in supplier management, contract negotiation, and strategic sourcing, including experience building and maintaining global supplier networks. Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, finance, product management) to support product development and lifecycle management. Experience with supply chain risk assessment, cost optimization, forecasting, and analytics to inform data-driven sourcing decisions. Leadership experience managing and developing sourcing or supply chain teams, with a focus on inclusive, performance-oriented culture. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills, with the ability to influence at executive levels. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, PMP) are a plus. Background working in hybrid environments and across global time zones; experience in audio, hardware, or high-tech products is highly beneficial.
