Junior Java Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product managers to build and maintain scalable, high-performance platforms.
• Communicate directly with clients to collect and analyze their needs.
• Create documentation, including PRDs, test cases, and design documents.
• Work independently as the sole developer on an application from idea to production when required.
• Deliver quality work on time while handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Apply cloud technologies and microservices architecture principles to project development.
• Question the status quo, pursue individual mastery, and work autonomously.
• Contribute to a culture of purpose, transparency, and trust.
• Identify root causes of problems rather than jumping directly to solutions.
• Make decisions based on business impact and justify trade-offs between quality and speed.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience with Java, SQL, and unit testing.
• Knowledge of algorithms and data structures, continuous integration, and Google Cloud Platform.
• BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Understanding of application security.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
• Excellent English communication skills at B2 level, including client-facing communication experience.
• Strong self-management and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work in an agile environment without direct supervision.
• Understanding of information management, data modeling, system integration, and development methodologies.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Google Cloud Spanner.
• Knowledge of gRPC.
