Software Engineer (Data & AI) with Tech Lead potential

Senior • Remote

This role is roughly half hands-on engineering and half leadership. You will work on ML/AI and the components around it: infrastructure, data pipelines, cloud, and user-facing applications. The work is end-to-end; the model is one part of the system.

What will you do?

  • Architect data/AI solutions for healthcare clients, including data platforms, ML/AI systems, and agents
  • Lead a team of 2–5 engineers on specific projects while remaining hands-on
  • Own technical quality through code reviews, standards, and best practices
  • Conduct pre-sales technical work, including client discovery sessions, scoping, and technical proposals
  • Mentor junior engineers
  • Build internal IP and reusable components for healthcare AI
  • Contribute to technical and strategic direction

What is required?

  • 5+ years in software and ML/AI engineering, including responsibility for others in a formal or informal role
  • Production experience with systems running in client environments
  • Problem-solving mindset and willingness to engage deeply with clients' business needs
  • Active use of LLMs, agents, and frontier tooling to automate work; ongoing awareness of industry developments
  • Genuine interest in healthcare; prior healthcare experience is not required
  • Full-stack engineering mindset: Python/AI as the core, with ability to work across infrastructure, data pipelines, cloud, and surrounding systems
  • Ability to scope, estimate, and deliver projects end-to-end

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of healthcare systems, standards, and formats, such as HL7/FHIR, DICOM, and Nextflow
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, ECE, or a related field
  • Experience building or leading engineering teams in a B2B or consulting environment
  • Cloud certifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect
  • Experience with classical ML, deep-learning frameworks, and a modern LLM stack
  • Public speaking, conference talks, technical writing, or open-source contributions
  • Currently based in or willing to relocate to Poznań, Poland

What you get

  • Work on production systems used by medical clients, affecting patients, public health, and research
  • Early adoption of relevant new models and tools
  • End-to-end work across ML, infrastructure, data, client systems, and user-facing applications
  • Path to Tech Lead with direct influence on technical direction, hiring decisions, and company strategy
  • Fully remote work with flexible hours
  • Dedicated training budget
  • Regular Tech Fridays for knowledge sharing
