Technical Lead — Data Science (f/m/x)

Senior • Remote

Lublin, LU, Poland

We’re looking for a technical lead who can keep a team of data scientists shipping work that holds up to scrutiny while staying close enough to the code to know when it doesn’t. You’ll own the technical direction of data science projects end-to-end — from framing the problem with the client to signing off on the modeling approach, reviewing the work, and making sure what gets delivered actually runs.

This is a hands-on role. You’ll still write Python, challenge model choices, and investigate why metrics look too good. Your biggest impact will come through others — setting standards, mentoring the team, and making the technical calls that keep projects on track across platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Palantir Foundry, Databricks, and major cloud providers.

Quick Facts

  • AI Grant — dedicated budget and resources, plus two paid weeks, to turn an AI idea into a working project.
  • AI Center of Excellence — collaborate daily with specialists in agentic AI, sovereign AI, generative AI, and discriminative AI.
  • Your tools, your choice — access to AI-powered development tools including Claude, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot.
  • Real project variety — work on generative AI for legal document compliance, agentic manufacturing systems, enterprise-scale AI platforms, computer vision, and autonomous driving.
  • Conference and speaking support — support for conference attendance, speaking preparation time, and bonuses.

Your tasks

  • Own the technical direction of data science engagements: solution design, modeling approach, validation strategy, and delivery quality.
  • Lead and mentor a team of data scientists through code reviews, methodology reviews, career development, and quality standards.
  • Stay hands-on by prototyping approaches, unblocking hard modeling problems, and contributing production-grade Python where it matters most.
  • Translate client business problems into scoped, estimable data science workstreams, and challenge unnecessary modeling.
  • Set and enforce engineering standards for reproducibility, experiment tracking, testing, and documentation.
  • Guide platform decisions and delivery across Microsoft Fabric, Palantir Foundry, Databricks, Snowflake, and native Azure, AWS, and GCP services.
  • Work with AI Architects, data engineers, and client stakeholders to align technical decisions with business outcomes and timelines.
  • Represent the team with clients by presenting results, defending methodology, and managing technical expectations.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years in data science, with a track record of models shipped to production, including at least 2 years leading or mentoring data scientists.
  • Deep, hands-on Python skills across pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and XGBoost.
  • Strong statistical and machine learning foundations, including experimental design, validation methodology, and sound judgment of model results.
  • Familiarity with at least one cloud or data platform and its data science components: Azure (Microsoft Fabric, Azure Machine Learning), AWS (SageMaker), GCP (Vertex AI, BigQuery ML), Snowflake (Snowpark ML, Cortex), Databricks (MLflow, Mosaic AI), or Palantir (Foundry Code Workspaces, Foundry ML, AIP).
  • Experience leading delivery in a client-facing or consulting context, including scoping, estimation, and technical-risk management.
  • Strong communication skills for defending methodology to technical audiences and explaining business impact to non-technical audiences.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Fluent Polish.
  • Residence in Poland.

Nice-to-have requirements

  • Production experience with Microsoft Fabric or Palantir Foundry, or relevant platform certifications.
  • Team-scale MLOps experience, including CI/CD for ML, model registries, monitoring, and governance.
  • Exposure to GenAI or LLM projects and judgment about their appropriate use in data science solutions.
  • Public technical presence through conference talks, publications, or open-source contributions.

Benefits

  • Employment stability.
  • Profit-sharing program.
  • Private healthcare, benefits cafeteria platform, car discounts, and additional benefits.
  • Class A offices or remote work.
  • Projects for global brands.
  • Funding for employee passions and voluntary actions.
  • Growth support through meetups, webinars, a training platform, and a technology blog.
