The Artificial Intelligence Services Team is implementing AI to unlock game-changing features for cutting-edge safety software solutions. The team works closely with AI teams and the public safety portfolio to implement advancements leveraging images, audio, video, data science, and machine learning technologies. Some technologies used include C#, .NET Core, XUnit, Python, Scala, Linux containers, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD using YAML and C#, Azure Cloud including Service Bus, Cosmos DB, self-deployed and Azure Cache for Redis, and frontier AI models such as OpenAI and Gemini.

Description

• Work as a software engineer on an engineering scrum team producing world-class public safety software solutions in the cloud.
• Produce mission-critical, real-time solutions that affect the public directly and may save lives.
• Learn to create solid, well-engineered code resulting in maintainable, testable, scalable, performant, highly available, sophisticated enterprise-level systems and services.
• Engage in Agile and Scrum practices, including feature work breakdown, groomed stories, and story estimation for two-week sprints.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with co-workers.
• Demonstrate flexibility and resilience to changes in company focus and user needs.
• Act as a self-starter who can understand and verbally express software-development concepts precisely and concisely.
• Learn to create well-written artifacts.

Must Have

• 3–4 years of experience building applications.
• Expertise in an object-oriented language: C#.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of Web APIs and REST.
• Understanding of how to build and deploy code; CI/CD pipeline-building experience is a bonus.
• Understanding of code testing; experience creating unit and functional automation, load, performance, and security testing is a bonus.

Bonus Points For

• Experience on teams using Agile and Scrum processes.
• Experience with gRPC.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience working with microservice principles and architectures.
• Kubernetes and Docker or other containerized solutions.
• Developing cloud-based solutions in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
