Junior Azure Data Engineer with Databricks (AI&Data)

Before you dive into the role

In this role, you will be part of a team driving digital transformation, gaining hands-on experience with GenAI and LLM in a production environment from day one. You will learn by doing and contribute to shaping the architecture from the ground up alongside experienced senior specialists.

The Work

• Support building and maintaining cloud-based data pipelines in Azure and Databricks.
• Assist with extracting, transforming, and integrating data from multiple data sources into central platforms.
• Apply data modeling fundamentals, including 3NF and star/snowflake schemas.
• Use SQL and basic PySpark for data manipulation, transformation, and preparation.
• Collaborate closely with senior engineers to implement scalable data solutions.
• Work location may combine remote work, client-site work, and office work depending on project circumstances. Some in-person time is required for collaboration, learning, and relationship building.

Here’s what you’ll need

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with data pipelines and Databricks.
• Familiarity with Unity Catalog features.
• Foundational knowledge of Azure cloud services and cloud data concepts.
• Proficiency in SQL and basic PySpark.
• Understanding of data modeling fundamentals and basic ETL/ELT concepts.
• Basic understanding of Git and DevOps concepts.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Bonus points if you have

• Understanding of Lakehouse concepts and Medallion architecture.
• Knowledge of Power BI or Tableau.
• Azure Fundamentals or Databricks Lakehouse Fundamentals certification.
• Academic or personal projects related to data engineering or analytics.
• Familiarity with Jupyter notebooks or similar tools.
