What You Will Do

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will act as the strategic link between Frontex stakeholders, Product Owners, and engineering teams.

Business Architecture & Process Optimization

  • Model value streams, capabilities, and end-to-end business processes using BPMN/UML to drive efficiency, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Requirements Engineering

  • Elicit, analyze, and manage complex business needs, turning them into clear user stories, functional specifications, and strategic roadmaps.

Strategic Advisory & Change Management

  • Prepare feasibility studies, perform cost-benefit analyses, and coach Frontex teams through organizational and process changes.

End-to-End Delivery

  • Support systems design, testing, QA, and transition roadmaps across the complete software development lifecycle.

What We Expect

Experience & Certifications

  • 8+ years of professional IT experience, including 5+ years as a Business Analyst.
  • Full lifecycle delivery of at least 1 comprehensive software project.
  • At least 2 active certifications from the following:
    • CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or equivalent.
    • OCUP / UML Professional (Foundation level) or OCEB 2 / BPMN (Fundamental level).
  • Fluency in English (B2 minimum) with exceptional analytical and stakeholder-facing skills.

Technical & Analytical Expertise

  • Deep mastery of BPMN and UML notations, including capability, activity, and state diagrams, and logical data models.
  • Hands-on proficiency with modeling software such as Sparx Enterprise Architect or ARIS Architect.
  • Proven skill in translating high-level business goals into precise feature sets and technical requirements.

Domain & Platform Mandates

  • Direct Business Analyst experience with projects querying or integrating with the Schengen Information System (SIS).
  • Proven experience in solutions enabling biometric or document verification, including:
    • Fingerprint scanning (NIST format, minimum 2 fingers).
    • Document scanning (MRZ for passports, IDs, visas, permits).
    • Biometric RFID chip data reading.
  • Solid understanding of EU data privacy standards, DPIAs, and information security risk assessment within EU institution environments.
