Description

We are looking for an expert with hands-on experience in COINS to join a project for a large, international company in the construction industry.

The main focus of this role will be designing and developing COINS integrations supporting CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation) processes. The position combines advanced COINS expertise, knowledge of financial and commercial processes in the construction industry, and strong experience in API design and implementation.

You will work closely with the client’s team, supporting the development and integration of COINS and using your expertise across both the technical and business aspects of the project.

Requirements

COINS Experience

• Advanced, hands-on experience with COINS – a key requirement.
• Strong knowledge of COINS functionality and modules.
• Advanced experience in creating COINS Application Datasets.
• Knowledge of COINS Tables & Schemas.
• Experience with COINS Data Lineage Mapping.

Business Knowledge – Construction Industry

• Experience in Construction Technical Accounting, including job costing, construction financial practices, subcontract subsidiary ledger accounting, CVR and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of construction commercial processes, particularly valuations, retentions and variations.

Technical Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of Progress OpenEdge ABL (Advanced Business Language).
• Advanced knowledge of SQL / Transact-SQL.
• Advanced knowledge of Progress Page Designer.
• Knowledge of Data Formats, Protocols & API Design Principles.
• Experience with API Testing.
• Experience with API Error Handling.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of HTTP methods: GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE.
• Experience with JSON Payload Design.
• Knowledge of OpenAPI / Swagger.
• Experience with API Versioning.
• Experience with Pagination & Filtering.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop COINS integrations, with a particular focus on CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation).
• Design and implement COINS Custom APIs using Progress OpenEdge ABL (Advanced Business Language).
• Create and develop COINS Application Datasets.
• Analyse COINS data, including tables, schemas and data dependencies (Data Lineage Mapping).
• Design integration solutions in line with Data Formats, Protocols & API Design Principles.
• Work with data formats and communication protocols, including JSON and HTTP.
• Apply API design principles including HTTP methods, JSON payload design, API versioning, pagination and filtering.
• Perform API testing and troubleshoot integration issues.
• Handle and diagnose API errors.
• Collaborate with the client’s team to analyse requirements and design appropriate integration solutions.
