Senior Observability Engineer (Production Resilience)

Senior Observability Engineer (Production Resilience) is a role aligned with the evolution of the IT Production mission and Master Control Room concept. The role works in ongoing collaboration with Production monitoring teams, System Engineering Monitoring, application and component owners, and business representatives to improve monitoring and observability, identify and eliminate production risks and blind spots.

This is not a purely operational or monitoring role. It requires the ability to challenge existing setups, drive improvements, influence multiple teams, and operate at system level by understanding end-to-end flows and risks across services.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance and development of Production-owned observability scenarios.
• Identify monitoring blind spots and work with component and application owners to eliminate them through additional data feeds or queries.
• Support projects and component or application owners in assessing and meeting monitoring and observability requirements and implementing solutions.
• Support business needs for service monitoring implementation.
• Master the incident-management process.
• Apply senior-level expertise with observability products, especially Splunk.

IT System Management activities

• Design, develop, implement, and support IT infrastructure solutions aligned with enterprise architecture direction and standards.
• Perform technical planning to select and implement appropriate, cost-effective technologies for business solutions.
• Provide expertise to support and troubleshoot infrastructure issues.
• Assess compatibility and integration of products and services proposed as standards to ensure integrated architecture across interdependent technologies.

Role and Responsibilities

• Perform domain team-lead activities and support team-member development where required.
• Manage relationships, innovation, and high-impact business cases; ensure approved business cases are realized.
• Advise on tactical matters.
• Translate strategy and policies into improved processes, guidelines, standards, and models.
• Build a strategy view across related dimensions, including people, products and services, and cost.
• Ensure systems are properly operated and maintained and that system evolution is successfully implemented.
• Identify strategic capabilities in processes, information technology, organizational enablement, or knowledge.

Required Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of relevant experience in at least one of the following domains: Production Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Infrastructure/Platform Engineering, Monitoring/Observability Engineering, or Incident/Problem Management in complex enterprise environments.
• Proven hands-on experience with observability platforms, with strong Splunk expertise in data onboarding, SPL development, dashboarding, alerting logic, and use-case design.
