QED develops digital infrastructure and AI supporting public health and food security work in Sub-Saharan Africa, including HIV and malaria surveillance and nutrient analysis of crops and soils.

We are looking for a mid-level Software Engineer to join the team in Warsaw.

Desired skills

  • Strong background in software engineering, version control, writing readable code and tests, robust design, and basic data structures and algorithms
  • Ability to conceive logical software architectures and communicate clearly verbally and in writing
  • Willingness to tackle a wide array of problems and technologies
  • Willingness to participate in regular design sessions, code reviews, and team-based work
  • Development primarily on UNIX-based or OSX-Darwin platforms
  • Working proficiency in spoken, written, and typed English (C1 or higher), including typing at least 45 words per minute
  • Willingness and interest in working with people from other cultures
  • Emotional resilience and social intelligence
  • Care for the quality and impact of your work
  • An optimistic outlook, while recognizing that pessimism can sometimes be useful

Bonus skills

  • Experience with Python, Django, React, Android, or PyTorch
  • Experience with computer hardware, electronics, or physics
  • Experience with programming and/or mathematics competitions

Work arrangement

This role requires a full-time commitment and physical presence in Warsaw, Poland, with hybrid remote and in-person work during the week. At least 2–3 days per week are expected in the office. Working hours are flexible; for example, approval is not required to take a short break in the middle of the day for personal business.
