Senior Data Engineer

We are building a new mobile game with the ambition of reaching hundreds of millions of users and processing billions of events every day. We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to build data infrastructure from the ground up to match these ambitions.

You will work on the core data platform that powers decision-making across product, LiveOps, and marketing. As a founding engineer on the data team, you will contribute to key architectural decisions, help shape technical standards in line with modern best practices, and build the foundation upon which the team will grow.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and build the data platform powering product insights, LiveOps, and marketing.
• Develop and maintain high-quality data pipelines that transform raw gameplay data into clean, structured datasets for analytics, marketing, tech, and AI teams.
• Collaborate with analysts and game teams to understand data needs and translate them into scalable solutions.
• Define data-quality standards and build automated monitoring, alerting, and validation systems.
• Develop and maintain services for interacting with partners and third-party services.
• Promote engineering best practices: observability, testing, performance optimization, cost awareness, and reliability.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with a track record of building scalable data platforms and pipelines.
• Expertise in cloud platforms, preferably AWS (S3, Kinesis, ECS, Athena, etc.), and modern data-stack tools such as dbt.
• Hands-on experience with ETL orchestration using Airflow or similar tools.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and analytics best practices, including schema design, partitioning, and versioning.
• Hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure as code.
• Proficiency in Python and strong skills in writing and optimizing SQL.
• Comfort contributing to architectural discussions and technical decisions.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and drive them from concept to production.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
