AI Product Engineer — desktop + mobile app

Description

The flagship product is an AI chief-of-staff that runs on the customer’s machine, with an Electron HUD, a TypeScript setup engine, a vendored Python agent engine, voice capabilities, and scheduled agents. It ships to paying customers on Mac and Windows. The product portfolio also includes mobile apps built with React Native/Expo and a Node backend for payments and fulfillment.

Responsibilities

• Ship features and fixes with AI agents across the desktop app, mobile apps, and backend.
• Own releases end-to-end: build, sign, notarize, upload, and verify.
• Maintain disciplined releases, with every release checksummed and logged.
• Work in an AI-native, agent-driven development workflow using Claude Code and Codex; orchestrate and review agent output.
• Engage with the product rather than only tickets, prioritizing plain language and ruthless simplicity for non-technical users.

Requirements

• Strong TypeScript skills and comfort working in unfamiliar codebases.
• Experience shipping a real product, such as a store app, a product with users, or a paid side project.
• Willingness to work across product layers in a small team.
• Preference for the smallest effective change; edge cases should justify added complexity.
• Self-directed approach to solving problems with incomplete specifications.

Nice to Have

• Electron or desktop packaging experience, including code signing and notarization.
• Expo build experience.
• Experience with LLM agent tooling.
