Senior Backend Engineer – Subscription & Account

The Accounts & Subscription teams own billing and authorization services, including text-billing for subscriptions, usage-based pricing, payment provider integrations, SSO, account management, and the OAuth implementation used for client authentication across Text products.

Current projects include Google Payments integration, a flexible roles and permissions system (ACAM), and customer migration from the legacy platform to TextApp.

About the role

Join as a Senior Backend Engineer and technical owner of SSO and account services. The role involves turning business requirements into technical solutions, aligning dependent teams, and delivering projects. You will work closely with product managers and engineers across the organization, with ownership and autonomy to shape critical services.

What you'll do

• Own the SSO service and OAuth implementation; lead technical decisions, propose improvements, and communicate trade-offs to stakeholders.
• Work on text-billing, including subscriptions, usage-based pricing, and payment provider integrations.
• Drive projects end-to-end: translate business requirements into solutions, coordinate dependent teams, set milestones, and deliver.
• Proactively maintain services by identifying issues early and proposing fixes.
• Contribute to client migration to TextApp and ACAM role-management improvements.

Who you are

• An owner who identifies problems, proposes fixes, and moves dependencies forward.
• Fluent in authentication at the protocol level, including OAuth flows, token types, and implementation risks.
• Comfortable presenting technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders and coordinating external teams.
• Pragmatic about balancing technical quality with delivery, with experience maintaining production systems and defending trade-offs.
• Uses AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar tools as part of everyday work.

You're a great fit if you have

• Deep OAuth 2.0 protocol knowledge, including flows, token types, and authorization models. OAuth implementation experience is a strong advantage.
• Strong production Go experience. Candidates with strong backend fundamentals and deep OAuth knowledge in another language can transition to Go.
• Solid MySQL experience.
• Familiarity with GCP and Kubernetes.
• A track record of owning backend projects end-to-end, including design, cross-team coordination, and delivery.

Nice to Have

• Experience with billing, subscriptions, or payment systems.
• Experience with ClickHouse or similar columnar databases.

How we work

The team works in a hybrid model: remotely when appropriate and onsite when it matters most.

Once per quarter, the whole team spends 5 working days together at the Wrocław office for focused execution, unblocking work, and driving key outcomes. The office is open year-round.

Contract: B2B (self-employed). You need a registered business in selected EU countries, either already established or possible to register in your country.
