Senior C++ Developer

We are seeking a Senior C++ Developer to design, optimize, and maintain high-performance Microsoft Office COM Add-Ins, with a focus on scalability, real-time data processing, and seamless user experience within Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Microsoft Office COM Add-Ins on Windows using C++ and JavaScript (NodeJS).
• Analyze performance bottlenecks in handling large datasets, such as 50k+ formulas or real-time data streams, and implement optimization strategies.
• Apply best practices and innovative solutions to improve the scalability, speed, and usability of the add-in.
• Collaborate with the team to design and implement new features for the COM Add-In application, and ensure thorough testing and quality assurance.
• Conduct detailed performance analysis, including profiling and debugging, and propose solutions to enhance stability and speed.
• Work on real-time data integration and ensure efficient handling of high-frequency updates.
• Communicate technical solutions effectively to internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Engage in technical discussions, gather requirements, and ensure alignment between development and business goals.
• Participate actively in a distributed team environment, and leverage remote collaboration tools to stay connected and productive.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with C++ programming, particularly for developing and maintaining COM Add-Ins.
• Experience with JavaScript, particularly for client-side scripting and enhancing user interactivity within Excel.
• Understanding of Microsoft Office APIs and the architecture for COM Add-In development, especially in Excel.
• Demonstrated experience handling large datasets, formula-heavy spreadsheets, and/or real-time data processing.
• Proven ability to optimize performance, improve scalability, and enhance responsiveness in applications dealing with substantial workloads.
• Experience with debugging, profiling tools, and performance tuning; Excel-related performance analysis is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of asynchronous programming and multi-threading techniques to handle real-time data updates.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to identifying and solving issues.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working effectively in distributed teams using collaboration tools.
• Proficiency in English at a B2+ level.

Nice to have

• Background in financial services, fintech, or a similar domain involving large-scale data and formula-heavy computations.
• Familiarity with advanced Excel functionalities, such as VBA macros.
• Knowledge of integrating real-time data streams, such as from APIs or external trading systems, into Microsoft Office Add-Ins.
• Proficiency with version control systems such as Git and experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for deployment.
• Familiarity with web technologies used in Office Add-Ins, including Office.js.
• Knowledge of best practices for usability, testing, and debugging in distributed applications.
