Senior C++ Developer

We are seeking a Senior C++ Developer to design, optimize, and maintain high-performance Microsoft Office COM Add-Ins, with a focus on scalability, real-time data processing, and a seamless user experience within Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Microsoft Office COM Add-Ins on Windows using C++ and JavaScript (NodeJS).
• Analyze performance bottlenecks in handling large datasets, such as 50k+ formulas or real-time data streams, and implement optimization strategies.
• Apply best practices and innovative solutions to improve add-in scalability, speed, and usability.
• Collaborate with the team to design and implement new COM Add-In features and ensure thorough testing and quality assurance.
• Conduct detailed performance analysis, including profiling and debugging, and propose solutions that enhance stability and speed.
• Work on real-time data integration and ensure efficient handling of high-frequency updates.
• Communicate technical solutions to internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Engage in technical discussions, gather requirements, and align development with business goals.
• Participate actively in a distributed team environment and use remote collaboration tools effectively.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with C++ programming, particularly developing and maintaining COM Add-Ins.
• Experience with JavaScript, particularly client-side scripting and improving user interactivity within Excel.
• Understanding of Microsoft Office APIs and COM Add-In development architecture, especially for Excel.
• Demonstrated experience handling large datasets, formula-heavy spreadsheets, and/or real-time data processing.
• Proven ability to optimize performance, improve scalability, and enhance responsiveness in applications with substantial workloads.
• Experience with debugging, profiling tools, and performance tuning; Excel-related performance analysis is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of asynchronous programming and multithreading techniques for real-time data updates.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working effectively in distributed teams using collaboration tools.
• English proficiency at B2+ level.

Nice to Have

• Background in financial services, fintech, or a similar domain involving large-scale data and formula-heavy computations.
• Familiarity with advanced Excel functionality, such as VBA macros.
• Knowledge of integrating real-time data streams from APIs or external trading systems into Microsoft Office Add-Ins.
• Proficiency with version control systems such as Git and experience implementing CI/CD deployment pipelines.
• Familiarity with Office Add-In web technologies, including Office.js.
• Knowledge of usability, testing, and debugging best practices in distributed applications.
