Principal Transport Network & DWDM Expert

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Principal Transport Network & DWDM Expert to provide deep technical expertise across transport, optical, IP/MPLS, and backbone networks. In this role, you will contribute to the development of AI-driven solutions that automate network assurance, optimization, planning, and incident management processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and develop transport network operational use cases for AI-powered automation.
• Create knowledge models and intelligent workflows for:
  • DWDM Operations
  • Optical Path Optimization
  • Transport Fault Management
  • Capacity Planning
  • IP/MPLS Routing Analysis
• Design and enhance autonomous workflows for transport incident management.
• Support predictive maintenance and network failure forecasting initiatives.
• Validate and optimize AI-generated recommendations for transport network remediation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and architecture teams to improve network intelligence capabilities.
• Drive innovation in transport network automation, resilience, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with transport and optical network technologies.
• Strong expertise in:
  • DWDM
  • OTN
  • ROADM
  • Optical Amplifiers
  • Fiber Infrastructure
• Solid knowledge of transport networking, including:
  • MPLS
  • Segment Routing (SR-MPLS, SRv6)
  • Carrier Ethernet
  • L2/L3 VPN
• Hands-on experience with leading vendor ecosystems such as:
  • Ciena
  • Nokia
  • Infinera
  • Cisco
  • Juniper
  • Huawei
• Strong background in network planning and optimization:
  • Traffic Engineering
  • Capacity Forecasting
  • Route Diversity
  • Network Resilience
  • Disaster Recovery Design
• Ability to analyze complex network environments and provide strategic recommendations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in large-scale service provider, telecom, or carrier-grade network environments is highly desirable.
