Forward Deployed Engineer (OpenAI)

About the roleWe are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to help customers successfully implement AI-powered solutions using OpenAI technologies. In this client-facing role, you will work closely with customers to understand their business challenges, build production-ready AI applications and integrate Large Language Models into existing enterprise systems.Depending on your experience level (Regular or Senior), you will contribute to solution design, implementation and customer success while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.ResponsibilitiesWork directly with customers to understand business requirements and identify AI use casesDesign, build and deploy AI-powered applications using OpenAI technologiesIntegrate Large Language Models into enterprise systems and business workflowsDevelop backend services and APIs to support AI solutionsBuild Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions and AI workflowsIntegrate AI applications with existing enterprise platforms and data sourcesPrototype, validate and optimize AI solutions for production environmentsCollaborate with Software Engineers, Data Engineers and Solution ArchitectsTroubleshoot technical issues and optimize application performanceContribute to best practices for AI engineering and customer deliveryFor Senior-level candidates: lead technical discussions, mentor team members and support solution designRequirementsCommercial experience in software engineeringExperience building applications using OpenAI APIs or similar Large Language Model platformsStrong programming skills in PythonExperience developing REST APIs and backend servicesUnderstanding of Generative AI concepts and LLM-based applicationsExperience integrating enterprise systems and external APIsKnowledge of prompt engineering and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)Experience with Git and CI/CDStrong problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to work directly with customers and translate business requirements into technical solutions.Fluent English - C1Nice to haveExperience with Azure OpenAIExperience with LangChain, LangGraph or LlamaIndexExperience with vector databasesExperience with Docker and KubernetesExperience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP)Knowledge of AI evaluation and observability toolsExperience working in consulting or customer-facing engineering roles
